Type of production: vegetables, saffron, eggs, fruit, vineyard, olive trees, hazelnuts
Location: Località Valleandona 117, Cravera, Asti
Meeting date: Saturday 23 September at 3.30 pm
We are a large family, father Massimiliano and mother Mariacristina, with 5 children, who landed in the Asti area in September 2019. We began to cultivate hope, trust and beauty with them, always looking towards the sky, towards infinity.. .
Our motto is: the important thing is to SOW!
We are in Cravera, a few steps from the Asti Ovest exit, in the Valleandona nature reserve: at the moment we grow fabulous vegetables and excellent saffron, in an absolutely natural way and with great respect and love for Mother Earth. And we are waiting for tasty fruit, good wine, genuine oil and special hazelnuts!!!
Here the land was sadly abandoned and neglected, and the landscape was reminiscent of a dark forest...Our project was also born from the profound desire to give new life and convert that land into fertile and lush areas...Here we only use water, sun and natural fertilizers.
Our saffron is also special: Massimiliano took the bulbs at a time when there was no house or land... but with trust... and shortly after, excellent land arrived to accommodate saffron too. Between the months of October and November we collect the fragrant and elegant flowers... and the pistils, once removed and dried, are excellent!
Finally, the farmyard animals could not be missing, which make ours a cheerful and lively farm and fresh eggs are never lacking.
We await you with joy and gratitude,
Massimiliano and Mariacristina

The “Terra Rigogliosa” agricultural company is a family-run business which, with great passion, care and respect for the land, has undertaken innovative techniques for the production of organic vegetables.
With great study and dedication Luciana Giacon has undertaken agriphotovoltaic cultivation and for years, under the initial guidance of the Frenchman Michel Bardaud, has adopted the Organic Forest method in their production. This method awakens the regenerative activities of the soil and improves the productivity and health of cultivation, maintaining and nourishing the properties of Mother Earth which is in symbiosis with the environment producing a living food. The cultivation method takes into account the laws of nature by applying sciences such as bioelectronics and bioenergetics. The agronomic benefits have been studied and documented by the University of Padua.
The owners will accompany us along the walk among the agrophotovoltaic crops, we will visit the greenhouses with seasonal vegetables, we will have experiential moments where they will teach us how to sow and plant correctly.
We will admire some types of "spoon cultivation" and for the occasion of the open day there will be a practical demonstration of the phases for creating a "spoon garden".
There will be the possibility of purchasing organic products at the shop for those who wish.
During the afternoon, the Organic Forest-Terra Rigogliosa staff, as well as the Sorifav technician, will present us their company and the innovative crops they have adopted after years of study, describing the nutritional advantages of the products of their land. Each phase of production is always planned with attention to quality and with non-invasive techniques in order to protect the soil and respect natural laws.
Late afternoon we will have the opportunity to gather in a convivial and friendly way, savoring the company's organic products and wines with an organic and vegetarian buffet dinner. We hope many of you will come!

Founded in the 1960s by Giuseppe Floriddia, from Sicily, and Sabia, from Abruzzo, it is now run by their two sons, Rosario and Giovanni, who converted it to the organic farming method in 1987.
The two brothers divide the tasks: Rosario takes care of the selection of old variety cereals and their cultivation in the field, Giovanni takes care of the mill and the quality control of the flours.
In 2006 they began to sow grains of old varieties and put the first artisanal stone mill into operation and already in 2009 they cultivated exclusively ancient grains. In the following two years the stone milling plant was equipped with a cutting-edge cereal selection and cleaning system. The artisanal pasta factory and the wood-fired oven for the production of organic pasta with wheat germ, bread and other baked products are also built.
The Floriddia family collaborates with Prof. Stefano Benedettelli (geneticist of UNIFI Florence, specialist in hard and soft grains suitable for pasta and bread-making), with Dr. Giovanni Cerretelli (agronomist and historic proponent of the organic cultivation method in Tuscany) and is part active member of the Rural Seeds Network.
